W. Hock Hochheim serves as a consultant to RedLion Protection Group, contributing to training standards and operational methodology.
A former U.S. Army Military Police patrolman and investigator, retired Texas police officer and detective, and licensed private investigator, Hock spent over three decades in frontline roles — working directly in patrol, investigations, and real-world confrontations.
With over 50 years of experience in combatives, he has studied, tested, and taught hand, stick, knife, and firearm systems, holding multiple black belts across Filipino Martial Arts, Kajukenbo, Kenpo, and related disciplines. His work helped shape early concepts of integrated combatives, with a focus on practical application under pressure.
Hock has trained and consulted for U.S. military branches, law enforcement agencies, and tactical units internationally — including delivering instruction to Metropolitan Police personnel and Army units in the United Kingdom, as well as special operations units in Europe. His work has taken him across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
His international engagements have included work alongside internationally recognised figures such as Tom Clancy and Rudy Giuliani. Hock is a member of the Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame and is widely recognised for his direct, experience-based approach to self-protection. Founder of Force Necessary, which later developed into Survival Centric, he continues to teach globally.
